Welcome to Our New Blog

While our website will always remain our primary reserve of information for new customers and previous clients alike, it has long been full of other resources beyond what hours we are open and what pieces we can treat.  Thus, The Conservation Center Blog was created in the interests of compiling the articles, tips, and videos that were previously found throughout the website.  The benefits to this new format are manifold: now the reader can easily access anything our conservators have written about a specific medium, rather than having to search through our newsletter archives; that same reader can use the comment feature on a post to ask a question regarding the conservation process; and perhaps most usefully, any reader can easily check our blog for new information, something that was never obvious when the information was published on various pages of the website.

Though we strive to create a user-friendly environment, if you're unsure of how to make use of any of the above benefits, here is a more thorough explanation:

  • To access the collection of posts regarding any one specific medium, the list titled "Categories" in the right sidebar will direct you to them.  If you want to read more articles similar to the one you have just finished, at the bottom of the post the categories that the post is filed under will be there, too. With the addition of more blog posts will come the addition of more categories; for example, a collection of posts which explain a conservation technique.

  • To leave a comment on any of our posts, click the "Post a Comment" link at the bottom, beneath the Categories links.  Fill out what you want to say, and choose a form of identification.  Once you click "Post Comment," it will ask for you to verify a word; this ensures that you're a rational human being, and not a computer programmed to leave spam comments.  Once you've completed that test, it sends your comment to our email, where we will approve it for publication on our blog.  Both the word verification test and comment moderation ensure a quality reading experience for our visitors: free from spam, advertising, and inappropriate comments.

  • While a returning reader can always simply direct his or herself to the main page to observe any new additions to the blog, the intrepid will notice that they can subscribe to the Blog's feed via the link at the bottom of the page.

Those of us here at The Center hope you will make the most of this new space, and perhaps even join us at our other sites on the internet: Our YouTube page, Our Facebook page, on LinkedIn, and of course, at Our Website.
